Jun 20, 2012 to Aug 1, 2012 Weds 8:15 pm to Weds 9:15pm Admission: $135 The Basic Field and Hunting Dog Course is designed for dog owners interested in getting involved in the dog field sports, such as hunting, hunt tests, field trials, “Big-Air,” and other outdoor activities (hiking, backpacking, tracking.) While the class is mainly designed for the sporting breeds (retrievers, pointers, spaniels, setters), all dogs, including mixed breeds, are welcome. Students will learn to “fetch” on command, scent training, sit for wing/shot (“whoa” command), whistle commands, introduction to blind retrieves, honoring and introduction to the field dog sports.
